Welcome. This site provides information on my work as a Software Architect and Programmer. I am available to work on-site in Western Massachusetts and adjoining regions, and online anywhere (I have worked with clients over great distances). I welcome queries from both clients and contract recruiters.

In my eleven years as a software developer, I have built applications ranging from compact utilities for the Palm Pilot to enterprise financial analysis and publication systems; from small e-commerce Web sites built with off-the-shelf technologies to a large community site built with complex n-tier technologies. My experience includes work for News Corporation, Sixdegrees, Moody’s Investor Services, and diverse start-up and individual clients.

I bring to my work a strong sense of correct software design, high standards for code clarity and robustness, and broad experience in the way in which software is actually used. For my clients, this results in products that work well from the beginning, are easily maintained, and can be extended as your needs grow.

Working on a freelance or contract basis, I will deliver outstanding service with none of the wasted time or expense entailed in working with consulting companies or large Web development firms. At the same time, I have the resources to supplement my own abilities with those of a talented group of freelancers with complementary skills (see Colleagues); this allows me to deliver a finished product of excellent quality for all types of projects.
